Truly an inncoent time for Americans. Prosperity was on the rise. We left ration stamps, there were no food stamps but there were S&H Green Stamps. Children still went to sleep listening to classic radio shows like Johnny Dollar and the Lone Ranger while all the TV stations broadcast LIVE (No pre-recording. No tapes. Live mistakes only) and stopped broadcasting at 12 midnight and started up the next morning. Remember watching the indian chief test pattern? Plastic was a new development and baseball cards actually came with bubble gum inside. Gas was around .27 a gallon and an average new american home was about $7k to $13k depending in which part of the country you lived.
