Model Year History Overview:
In 1970 no less than five series were offered, with the LTD Brougham at the top of the line.  Next in line was the mid-size Torino which was produced in eleven body styles, including a station wagon. This series proved exceptionally popular early in the decade.  The high performance Cobra fastback was the most exciting of the series with a standard 429 cid engine.  A brand-new entry for 1970 was the Maverick, a compact semi-fastback two-door sedan on a 103-inch wheelbase.
