1964 Thunderbird

Model Year History Overview:
          1964 saw a restyled Thunderbird and was the first year for transistorized ignition, “Highway Pilot” speed control and the unique Silent-Flow through ventilation system (for hardtops and landaus models only).  The Safety Convenience Control Panel also new for 1964 and included a low fuel warning light, door ajar light, four-way emergency flashers and a second toggle switch to activate a vacuum operated door-lock system. Only 45 Thunderbirds were built with the Sport Tonneau Cover and Kelsey-Hayes wire wheel combination.
