1963 ½ Ford Galaxie 500 XL Model Year History Overview: Fords were the car to beat on the nation’s race tracks in the ‘60’s. This car, the Ford Galaxie 500 XL Fastback, first introduced in mid-1963 as a “1963 1/2,” was one of the strongest contenders on the East Coast NASCAR tracks. Its aerodynamic roof line gave it the edge in racing completion along with its thundering 427 cid big-block engine. The Galaxie 500 was Ford’s full-size car during the sixties. The mid-size model was the Fairlane followed by the sturdy Falcon as the compact and the smallest model. Total 1963 Ford Production: 1,462,091 MSRP: $2,674.00 Vehicle Mileage: 28,714 miles (Original) Stock Number C 162
