1986 Dodge Shelby Turbo GLHS
5-Door Hatchback

History Overview:
After Carroll Shelby helped Dodge with their 2.2 cars, he wanted a more aggressive and performance-oriented vehicle.  He bought the last 500 1986 Dodge GLH Turbos, all of them black.  These were shipped to his Whittier, California assembly plant where the 146 hp GLH made its transformation into a GLHS.  He started with the addition of an air-to-air intercooler, a different turbocharger and a special intake manifold, larger injectors and throttle body.  This allowed Shelby to bump the boost from 9-psi to 12-psi (or 14-psi at WOT with an MP Stage II module).  The result was 175 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque.  The suspension was upgraded with Koni adjustable struts/shocks all around.  The tires were upsized form P195s to P205/50VR-15 Goodyear Gatorbacks mounted on Shelby Centurion aluminum wheels.  The inside received a clear sticker overlay on the un-pegged speedometer that gave it a readout to 135 MPH and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.  The last change was the removal of the plastic Omni badge from the RH side of the dash and replaced with a Shelby Automotive badge.  This car was capable of quarter mile times between 14.8 and 15.3, 0-60 MPH on the 6.5 second range and a top speed of 130 MPH.

This is an all-original, un-restored car.  The wheels are perfect with red markings on the lug nuts to show the torque specifications.
