This Vehicle’s History Overview:

At the close of World War II, Hudson automobile production resumed with lightly restyled 1942 models. Nonetheless, they were strong sellers in the rush to satisfy the strong postwar demand for new cars. As before, Hudson continued to lead the industry with a growing list of mechanical, safety and comfort features, and all models received beautiful hand rubbed lacquer finishes. These high quality, well-engineered automobiles were priced from $1,481 for the Super Six two-door coupe, and were a solid choice for their value-conscious owners.

The 1946 Super Six Convertible Coupe presented here is a very handsome example of this desirable model. It sports an older exterior finish with selectively restored bright trim, a new black convertible top and a new tan leather boot. The handsome exterior also features dual rearview mirrors, a spotlight, leather stone guards, and painted steel wheels with full chrome wheel covers and wide whitewall tires. The restored interior is trimmed in beautiful and well-fitted leather upholstery that remains virtually new, while the carpeting exudes a fresh appearance and complements the mostly original dash. As well, the attention to detail extends to the trunk area, which is carpeted to match the interior.
To enhance drivability on today’s highways, a modern small-block
Ford V8 engine now powers the car, and is teamed with an automatic transmission. While the original chassis does exhibit some signs of rust and road use, the car has been maintained in proper running order and is driven regularly, as intended.
