Model Year History Overview:
Styling of the first Ford of the ‘40s was so good—so good that this car has become one of the most desirable single models made by any manufacturer. The hood was crisply pointed, meeting a handsome grille composed mainly of delicate horizontal bars, flowing smoothly back to a rakishly angled windshield. The headlamps, sealed-beams for the first time, were faired into neat fender nacelles. The fenders themselves were beautifully curved to complement the body contours and were often skirted at the rear for the ultimate streamlined appearance.
This Deluxe Opera Coupe was restored in 1998 and only driven 600 miles since. Mileage believed to be correct by the way the car looks, drives and handles. Restoration was from a rust-free car. Excellent restored body painted Yosemite Green, excellent floors and trunk area with original tool tray. Chrome and body trim all-new or re-chromed. All-new rubber floor mats in front and in the trunk area with carpet in the jump seat area. Dash is painted the correct 1940 colors and is equipped with an original radio. All plastic and dash knobs are new including door handles and window cranks. Tires are new BFGoodrich 6.00x16 wide whitewalls with correct trim rings on wheels. Running boards recovered as original.
